A CONVERTER SHOULD HAVE NOT BEEN SHIPPED IN THE FIRST PLACE- ANOTHER $1600 DOLLAR CONVERTER BLOWN UP BECAUSE OF DEBRIS- SORRY WAY TO DO BUSINESS- BY LETTING THE CUSTOME WORK HIS ASS OFF IN A BORROWED SHOP AWAY FRON HOME-WITHOUT ADVISING HIS OF THE POTENTIAL POLLUTION OF THE ENTIRE TRANNY! BAD WAY TO DO ANYBODY- ESPECIALLY BROKE DOWN ON THE ROAD AND NEEDING GOOD ADVICE!

Randy I had a bad taste in my mouth when you didn’t have park! Makes me worry about their quality control. Santa’s workshop and you got it resolved but you shouldn’t have had too. Issues from day 1 is never good. Sucks is the Monte Carlo is sweet, would’ve been amazing to see it make it through power tour. Totally your call, but I wouldn’t even bother putting in that torque converter I would run and find another transmission.

I got a transmission for my truck from them. Don't drive everyday, but of course I got a gear that sticks occasionally as soon as the warranty ran out.

THERE ARE TORRINTON BRGS. INSIDE A TORQUE CONVERTER! I JUST CAN'T BELIEVE THEY WERE GOING TO LET YOU REMOVE THIS TRANNY AND JUST SIMPLY SLIP ANOTHER IN TO DO THE SAME THING IN 15 MINUTES! RANDY WHEN A TORQUE CONVERTER COMES APART- THE PIECES GO INTO THE FRONT PUMP! IT GETS INTO THE COOLER LINES AND INTO THE VALVE BODY- SO IF YOU PUT THIS INTO THE TRANNY - THOSE PIECES ARE FLOATING AROUND IN THE FRONT PUMP AND INTO THE DRUMS AND SPRAG UNIT. IF IT WAS ME ID TAKE THE ENTIRE TRANS APART AND CLEAN OUT EVERYTHING AND SPECIALLY INSPECT THE FRONT PUMP FOR METAL IN THE VEINS! WHY FILL THE NEW 16600 DOLLAR CONVERTER WITH PIECES FROM THE SHATTERED ONE? THE TRANNY NEEDS TO BE DISASSEMBLED AND THROUGHLY CLEANED DOWN TO THE LAST NUT! ANYTIME YOU HAVE NOISE IN A CONVERTER THERE ARE PARTS THAT HAVE EITHER COME APART OR BROKEN AND THOSE TINY CHIPS AND FINS ARE GROUND UP INTO SLIVERS AND WILL STRIPE UP THE FRONT PUMP AND PUMP GEARS! I DIN'T THINK THIS IS A GOOD IDEA TO JUST STUFF ANOTHER CONVERTER INTO THIS GEAR AND RIP IT OFF AND NOT TO EXPECT ANOTHER FAILURE FROM DEBRIS! I would feel ashamed if I had come to you with this transmission deal. They should feel even worse than that because they put there name on it.

At this point there is no way they are going to ship that torque converter to you if the guy with the repair shop refuses the shipment. Have him accept it and reimburse the guy at the repair shop to ship it directly to you. You can have the broken torque converter rebuilt and then you'll have a spare. (Edit: I typed this while I was watching the video. Glad to see at the end this is what you decided to do.)

The Cluster***** continues! I would probably send some kind of a gift package such as a Hickory Farms assortment to that nice guy who tied up his shop for you. Charge it and every other bill to Monster Transmissions not that they would pay! You were very reserved in your comments to them!

Sorry you and Mike had to deal with this. Transmissions are weird things when they malfunction. We used to have an old British Spec Ford Escort and you could drive it for hours without issue. Only when you stopped to park the transmission would always boil over with fluid. That was one phantom issue we could ever figure out. When driving it shifted smooth but stopping was an issue for it.

Sorry you and Mike had so many problems on your trip, but hopefully you enjoyed yourselves more than you were annoyed with the situation. I know monster transmission helped in building the car, they should at least offer you half the extra layout in money you spent because of their failed product, it would be the ethical thing to do….

I would not buy anything from Monster Transmission! The way they handled this is unforgivable. They should have boxed up another converter and sent it to you immediately overnight. Honestly, a 200 trans is too small of a trans for that motor. At least use a 700r4. Monster gave you the cheapest POS they could! You are much calmer than I would be! LOL! Before you just dump it wait for a while and then make the decision. My 01 Corvette convertible was hit by a semi-truck on the freeway and I was told it was totaled by the insurance company and had let them take it to Copart locally here. A few weeks later they told me they would fix it for 6kl There is no way possible. Well after some negotiations I got 2.5 times what I bought it for a year ago, a clean title, and my car back. But while at Copart more damage was done. I already fixed some of that too. Now I decided to fix it myself. I will keep it and make it the winning show car it was before. So take some time and you may do the same and decide to keep the car. I was totally pissed my super clean show car was ruined. But after time I realized I still love that car and will keep it for now.

Randy, she is lying to you. They can reverse change addresses while it's in shipment. I used to work in freight all the time for a flagpole company and we've done it numerous times. It just cost some extra money

I would pluck and chuck the monster transmission and torque converter. I would replace it with stuff from Gearstar, give it a good amount of testing, then put if up for sale. It's a nice ride but not sure how appealing without t-tops.
